I’m fat.
No doubt about it, I’m overweight.

I don’t fit the picture of the ideal nutritional coach. So why on earth should you work with me?!

It depends on what is important to you. If your idea of a coach is someone with visible six-pack abs and very low body fat, there are no shortage of them. Check Instagram.

On the other hand, if having a coach who KNOWS what it’s like to struggle with fat loss, who’s been through all the diets and failed at them, who understands how that erodes confidence and self-esteem, and still perseveres with eating healthily and exercising regularly, rather than giving up, I’m the coach for you.

I’ve been called all the names above, and more.
But words have lost their power to hurt me. I define myself these days not by how much or how little I weigh, but about what kind of person I am. How compassionate I am to myself and others. And what benefit I bring to the world.

My weight has nothing to do with that.

I have several things going against me in the fat-loss stakes. I have been on over thirty diets, starting when I was just nine years old. I’ve binged and purged and experienced bulimia. I’ve exercised until I’ve bled, and still hated my body. I’ve been where you’ve been.

All of that yo-yo dieting has increased the number of fat cells I have and slowed my metabolism. I also have fibromyalgia, which is a neurological disorder characterised by chronic pain and fatigue. And the medication for that makes most people gain weight. I’m screwed!

But I am also sensible and pragmatic. And I’ve learned that diets are stupid and that eating mostly nutritious foods most of the time makes me feel and perform better. My body may be in pain, but it is more comfortable when I exercise and stretch regularly. And slowly, over time, I am losing fat.

Here’s what that means for you:

*I’m compassionate.
*I understand.
*I have an array of tools to help you.
*I have helped other people.
*I’m on your side.
*I won’t give up on you, or let you give up on yourself.
*I’m in this for the long haul.

(If I don’t resonate with you, that’s fine. Please go find someone else to work with, so that you can have an extraordinary life. You deserve it.)
